Anniversary 2013 — Half a decade, what?

Fancy dinner at fancy Hank's Fine Steakhouse. Nothing in this picture looks as good as it did in real life.

This weekend my marriage turned FIVE. Five whole years. And maybe this is a really trite thing to say, but it seriously does just keep getting better and better. Jordan hates it when people write mushy love letters to each other on the internet, so I’ll just go with this:

Jordan is probably the coolest guy I’ve ever known. Seriously, he has just the right balance of nerdly and rock n’ roll. I love that he is both a scientist and an artist. When he talks about the nuances behind why he chooses different guitars to get different sounds in his music or why a certain beetle fits into this or that family of insects, it is such a turn on. At least once every day I find myself thinking to myself—with a certain amount of amazement—“Self, how did you get so stinking lucky?” I sure cannot wait to see what the next five years holds for us.

(Hopefully that isn’t too mushy for Jordan’s tastes.)

They brought us these strawberries for free. Pretty nice service, that is.
